PROJECT OVERVIEW
PROJECT OVERVIEW
In early 2026, Aashish connected with Avni Parekh, a long-time contact, around a shared observation: most community events fail to intentionally design for belonging and connection, leaving attendees feeling the gap between what events promise and what they actually deliver. Together, they decided to address this by curating an event that would also serve as the official launch of the Led by Community Bangalore chapter. The goal was to bring together community professionals from diverse backgrounds to co-create a new playbook, built collectively with the help of AI, focused on how to design better belonging and connection at events.

The Challenge
The Challenge
The core challenge was twofold: launching a brand new meetup chapter from scratch with no existing local audience, while simultaneously executing a high-quality event experience that would live up to its own premise of designing for belonging. They had to move fast, build awareness quickly, drive real RSVPs (not just interest), and deliver an on-ground experience that felt intentional and curated. Initial expectations were modest, with a target of 30 attendees.

WHAT WE DID
WHAT WE DID
Aashish played a central role across every layer of the event, from concept to communications to execution. Concept design: Developed the event format, splitting attendees into groups and running three rounds of structured challenges to drive peer connection, shared storytelling, and problem-solving. Outputs were synthesised into a community-authored playbook. Communications: Led a two-week outreach campaign across LinkedIn and personal networks, keeping the intent sharp and the messaging clear. Followed up directly on WhatsApp to convert interest into confirmed RSVPs. On-ground execution: Coordinated with the venue team, brought supplies, curated the activity stations, and co-hosted the event alongside Avni Parekh to ensure the experience held together end to end. Result: 50 registrations. 32 attendees showed up. Multiple new members joined the Led by Community India chapter off the back of the event.

Aashish and I are both community professionals, and when we ran into each other after a couple of years, it was just obvious , we needed to work together on something.
The first thing we chose to do was co-create the Led by Community Bangalore chapter launch. An in-person event that brought community professionals into a room, harvested their collective wisdom, and honestly, brought some heart back to what community is supposed to feel like.
The thing about Aashish is he puts his whole heart and soul into everything he does. I’ve watched him masterfully weave people together in a room in real time, and it’s something else. He deeply understands what makes IRL events actually work and co-designing this experience with him was as educational as it was rewarding. It’s been a while since I’ve done events at this scale, and he’s clearly done a lot of thinking about how to give events real ROI without losing the joy and wonderment that make people actually want to show up.
I’d work with him again in any shape or form, without hesitation. If you’re thinking community or events, Aashish is your person. Wholeheartedly.
